Maryellen Powers
Maryellen has been a competitive swimmer since the age of 6, competing nationally by age 13
for Bernal's Gator Swim Club and
later ranked nationally in the 200 butterfly while swimming for Boston University.
She began her career as a swim coach after college, while taking up triathlon as an amateur. After being crowned the 1992 U.S. Amateur National Champion and the 1992 Amateur World Champion, Maryellen turned professional. A former U.S. Goodwill Games Team member, she also garnered Pro Rookie of the Year honors and finished top-three in many prestigious races such as Chicago/Mrs. T's, Ironman Florida, St. Croix Half Ironman and U.S. Pro Nationals.
Triathlon Background
With 12 years of experience, much of it on the professional level,
Maryellen has learned to make the most of every race. Maryellen is
an extremely versatile triathlete, proving herself at distances
from sprint to Ironman, as well as in draft-legal races. Highlights
of her career include an American-best run split on her way to
12th at Goodwill Games '98, 2nd place at Ironman Florida 2001,
and 3rd at Chicago Mrs. T's 1998 with a 2:01:34 finish time.

Coaching background
Maryellen has coached triathletes one-on-one for a number
of years. She has worked with athletes of varying levels of ability
and commitment. Her open-minded approach and considerable experience
have been very popular and effective.
In addition to coaching triathletes, Maryellen has years of swim coaching
experience gained at some of the best programs in the nation.
She has worked with some of the most influential coaches in United States Swimming, including
Joe Bernal, Mike Parratto and Dick Jochums, whose programs have produced numerous olympians including
Bobby Hackett, Dave Berkoff and Jenny Thompson. On the collegiate level, she has
worked as an assistant for the men's and women's programs at both the University of Washington
and the University
of New Hampshire. Formulating workouts and training plans, managing stroke technique,
and total-body training (dryland, flexibility, balance) are among her specialties.

Natt Hammond
Natt picked up cycling at the age of twenty, moving quickly through the amateur ranks to category one. During ten years of competitive cycling, he won many of New England's most prestigious amateur cycling events, and was the top-ranked amateur cyclist in New England. During his last two years of serious competition, Natt raced in a small number of triathlons, including a first place finish the inaugural Timberman Half Ironman in a time of 4:21:08.
Natt's experience on the bike and technical knowledge are the primary focus of his coaching activities. His background provides extensive insight on the technical aspects of cycling - cornering, climbing, descending, handling, time trialing. His knowledge of training theory complements his experience both on the bike and as a coach/trainer. He has performed numerous bike fits and is an expert at equipment selection and maintenance.
